About Life Between The Trails

Our Story
Life Between the Trails is about finding connection, wellbeing, and joy in the moments spent outdoors—especially the ones that happen between the big milestones.

I was brought up with a deep love of nature and exploring. Being outside was never just something we did; it was part of how I learned, played, and felt most myself. As a family, this is something we’ve carried forward with our own children—encouraging them to explore the outdoors from a young age, to get muddy, curious, confident, and comfortable in nature.

This space is a reflection of our family adventures and the life we live outdoors together. From family travels and camping trips to kayaking, paddle boarding, wild swimming, and everyday time on the trails, Life Between the Trails celebrates accessible, real-life adventures—especially adventures with kids.

Alongside being an outdoor enthusiast, I am an occupational therapist and sensory integration practitioner, working with adults with learning disabilities. Through both my professional work and my personal experiences, I began to truly notice how powerful nature can be for wellbeing—not just passing through it, but slowing down enough to feel its impact.

Nature became a space for regulation, grounding, joy, and connection—for myself, for the people I work with, and for our family. This journey, and the ways nature supports our sensory and emotional wellbeing, is explored more deeply in my book, which you can find linked here.

Life Between the Trails is also a practical space. The website shares blog posts about our experiences, honest reflections from the trail, and a collection of our favourite things we genuinely use on our adventures. We also have a website shop sharing useful products for outdoor adventures, alongside items that support grounding, relaxation, and wellbeing.

This isn’t about perfect adventures or ticking off achievements. It’s about raising curious kids, supporting wellbeing, and finding meaning in movement, water, woods, and wild places—together.

Welcome to life between the trails.
